SO WHAT IS THE WATERFALL ALL ABOUT?

Welcome to the Waterfall Journey. This is a journey of discovery that some of us, having been travelling for many years. The Waterfall is a place. It is abiding in the presence of the Father 24/7. It is where Jesus walked in His time on earth. It starts with God and there is a divine simplicity to the journey He wants to lead us on. Everyone is invited and as the end time approaches God needs us all to play our part to the full, in His Kingdom purposes. This is God’s invitation for you to join Him in His story. Wherever you are in your story right now, God is asking you to bring it into His presence and He will transform you, heal you, grow you and you WILL accomplish everything He has ordained for you.  Be prepared for some life-changing revelations!

It starts with God and God is love. Love is the meaning behind all things. God is absolute love, it is His character and thus the source of His never-ending, overwhelming love for His children. Love is the essence of who God is and the origins of His goodness.

You may be challenged or angry about these statements because so much of what you believe will have depended on the road you have travelled so far. You may be thinking ‘So why is there suffering in the world?’ ‘Why does evil seem to always win?’ ‘Why cannot I experience His love?’ Real questions which cry out to be answered. This is an invitation from God, for you to travel with Him and let Him reveal Himself to your heart.

Many Christians choose what they want to believe about God, for example discount the Old Testament or think the miracles of the First Century were only for that time or believe the power of the Holy Spirit is not for now. We tend to view God from our earthly perspective.

However, The Waterfall Journey is the unfolding of God’s perspective and the very personal walk He wants to take with you, of transformation and revelation, so that you can know Him and fulfil your God given destiny.

We start with God’s story and the amazing invitation we have been given, not only to be trusted members of His family but also to be used in His plans and purposes. Our stories have importance in Kingdom terms, not as a series of episodes, but as one continuous journey that, having been brought into God’s story, will be transformed as we are changed into the likeness of Christ. God is waiting for us to be ready as the Holy Bride and the Army for Jesus to return. As you read this, God is offering to draw you into His inner courts, that He may take you deeper into an intimate relationship and elevate you into a trusted friend and partner in His story.

The Waterfall Journey is practical discipleship - God’s way. ‘How do I do that?’ is the question we are going to answer.

The final words of Jesus before He ascended to heaven passed the baton of the purposes of God on earth, from Himself, to His disciples. The words of the great Commission are well known to us who call ourselves Christians but living out their profound depth of meaning takes divine insights. Everything flows out of God’s heart.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go              and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy.                    Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the              very end of the age.”                        Matthew 28: 18-20

Religion has often made this complicated as it can come with ritual, tradition, legalism and habit. To begin the task, it is necessary to be a disciple and there were few of them in the time of Jesus. What proportion of Christians today have been taught to live the life of a disciple? When a child became the disciple of a rabbi, the family would take time and give much thought before placing their boy with the teacher. This was because it was much more than just knowledge that would be imparted. The disciple was expected to pick up the values and character of the rabbi, so that the pupil became like the master. The question is ‘What do we need to learn and how do we need to change to become like Jesus?’

We have a map and the Holy Spirit is our guide.

There are three elements to the Waterfall Journey:

  • THE WAY to transformation – the healing of our hearts, the renewing of our minds and the restoration of our broken image.

  • THE TRUTH of who GOD is – knowing the nature, Word and mind of God, the functions of the Trinity and our identity in Him, leading us to maturity on the pathway of holiness.

  • THE LIFE – living in the authority of Jesus as Kingdom ambassadors, in the gifting and with the call of God on our lives, flowing in the Holy Spirit to fulfill the purposes of God.

The invitation is for us to join God in His story, to understand His perspectives and living in the presence of the Father, in the fullness of all Jesus gave us by His death on the cross and in the flow of the Holy Spirit to play our part in the Kingdom, thus hastening the return of Jesus.

The journey will take us

from the wonder of God’s intentions for His children

through the brokenness of the Fall and its consequences

to an understanding of sin and the sacrifice of Jesus

and the reasons why God needs His children to be free and in tune with His heart.
